Russia Bombed Whom?

So, Russia bombed targets in Syria today (which DC seemed to think was cool assuming they were bombing ISIS). But it appears they bombed targets other than ISIS targets (oops). Some say in support of the Assad government (which the US government does not support) and against moderate rebels (which the US does support, ostensibly). Is it hitting the fan? I fear we’re screwed (again).
