PB&J Railroad Open House a Grand Success

March 11, 1894*

Fosterville (AP) - After two weekends of weather delays, the PB&J Railroad Open House finally happened today under mostly cloudy skies and with temperatures somewhat less than ideal. Over 50 people came and went during the 2-hour event, much to the delight of the entire PB&JRR crew, according to James Trevorsky, the Fosterville section manager for the PB&JRR.

Pictured at upper right are the early arrivals to the festivities who witnessed the #30 emerge from the yard and head out onto the main line. It was a glorious sight to behold!

Pictured at left is one of the tickets each attendee received. It was punched with an authentic bell-shaped conductor's punch (punch not shown, white spaces are previous punches).

Mr. Trevorsky proudly explained that "The #30, #1201, and #99-805 units were all in operation today, giving everyone an excellent exposure to the capabilities of our railroad. It was quite gratifying to see the number of youngsters interested in engineering jobs all get a chance at the throttle," he added.

Lynn Tracelet, owner/operator of the Princess Farmstead, said she was very pleased with the positive reactions to the farmstead and its operations. "My daughter's doll house, which her grandfather and she built and furnished over the years, was the hit of the farmhouse tour."

"Folks who missed today's open house are encouraged to contact the PB&J Railroad offices in Fosterville for information regarding future activities," indicated Mr. Trevorsky.
